Firebrand politician, Kennedy Agyapong says Evangelist and author, Dag Heward-Mills, founder of the church formerly known as Lighthouse Chapel International is 'evil.'
Agyapong made the comment after a video emerged online of the latter cursing an unknown person during a church service.
Heward-Mills is currently embroiled in controversy following news of six former pastors of his church accusing its leadership of violating their rights.
"You are more than evil, and nobody is able to tell you, but I will tell you straight away. Your own words cursing people," said Agyapong.
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Heward-Mills had broken his silence days after Larry Odonkor, Emmanuel Oko Mensah, Edem Kofi Amankwa, Seth Sarpong Duncan, Edward Laryea, and Faith Fiakojo sued the church he founded.
They are accusing the leadership of the church now known as United Denominations, originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches of not paying their SSNIT contributions when they were employees of the church.
Heward-Mills posted a cryptic message on Twitter, the micro-blogging site which is being interpreted as a response to the controversy.
"The love of Jesus is greater love because He sacrificed Himself for us. Jesus did not give us money, houses, or cars as some do; He laid down His life! He gave His life for us," reads the first of two messages.
He also added: “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” 1 John 3:16
Meanwhile, members of Lighthouse Chapel International are defending Dag Heward-Mills amidst the controversy he currently finds himself in.
Since the issue of SSNIT nonpayment, Heward-Mills has been called out with many alleging that he is not what he portrays to be in the public eye. Some are however vehemently defending him saying that there is a ploy to bring him down.
Early this week, Heward-Mills was seen in new photos chilling with politicians including Alan Kojo Kyereman, the Minister of Trade and Industry in spite of the controversy.
