In an interview, the veteran gospel singer said that someone like her, who had given birth to two children, could face fertility issues.

"My husband and I lost our first child two months after we got our second," she said.

The experience dragged on for about ten years, giving room for people to gossip and spread rumours about her.

"People talked a lot. Some said I had gone for a procedure to stop giving birth after having two children. The rumours were too much. I waited for about ten years. Someone who gave birth to two children in less than two years, now I could not conceive," Mama Esther narrated in her interview.

According to Mama Esther, the ten-year waiting period came with a lot of mysterious dreams,

"When my child died, I dreamt about being in labour where someone was telling me to push. Immediately, I pushed the baby out, the person put the baby in a bucket and started to walk off. When I demanded my baby, the person said it wasn't a child but my womb, establishing that I would never give birth again."

It took consistent prayers for her to turn things around. After she gave birth, her struggle story inspired her classic gospel song "Me Judge Akasa."

In the interview, she explained that Me Judge Akasa was a message to God and the many detractors who ridiculed her during her hard time. Reflecting on her past, the Ghanaian gospel singer noted that

"I didn't have any answer to the rumours going round that I had tampered with my womb,"
