DJ Azonto: 'Cross-dressing' Musician Claims God Approves His Style, Say It Came To Him In A Dream

Ghanaian musician Mark Kwesi Arthur, known on stage as DJ Azonto, caused a stir at the just-ended 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

DJ Azonto wore a bright pink mid-thigh dress with a platinum blonde wig and silver high-heeled platform shoes.

In an exclusive with YEN.com.gh, he explains why it is important that he attends public gatherings dressed as a woman.

Ever since his outfit at the 2023 VGMA went viral, many accused him of promoting the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana.

YEN.com.gh asked DJ Azonto what inspires his style, and he disclosed the ritual he goes through before stepping out as an invited guest at any program.

Anytime I am invited to a program, I fast, and then I pray and ask God to reveal to me what I should wear to be the talk of the town.

According to the 'Fa No Fom' Hitmaker, one of these revelations is what we saw at the VGMA. He added that God has been his only source of inspiration.

Since I'm a Ghanaian, I would like to answer your question with a question. Is there any other source of inspiration for man apart from the God Almighty? If there is, it's fine. To me, there is non apart from God. So I will say that I get my inspiration from God Almighty.
