TikToker Akonoba stirred sadness on social media after he broke down in tears over his close friend Osanju’s death.

Popular TikToker Osanju Elvis Frimpong was reported dead on Monday, September 1, 2025.

He reportedly fell ill at home and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, but did not survive.

Osanju's abrupt passing sparked widespread amazement on social media, as he had shared a video late in the evening of Sunday, August 31.

The video showed him complaining about Barcelona's inability to defeat Rayo Vallecano in their Spanish La Liga contest on Sunday night, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Osanju displayed his usual witty personality and looked to be in good condition.

Roughly 11 hours after uploading the video, he was reported dead.

Akonoba weeps over Osanju’s death

The news of Osanju’s death hit Ghana’s TikTok community hard due to his close ties to many other creators.

In a video seen by YEN.com.gh on TikTok on September 1, Akonoba, a very close friend of Osanju, broke down in tears on a livestream.

Akonoba and other TikTokers were on a livestream discussing Osanju’s passing when he lost his composure.

He broke out into song to mourn his brother while he spoke about their final moments together.

Akonoba also lamented over Osanju’s father’s condition as he wondered how he would deal with losing his wife and son in the space of eight months.
