Controversial media personality Okatakyie-Afrifa Mensah is set to embark on another academic journey abroad.

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, the official Facebook page for the presenter announced that he had secured a scholarship to study for a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree at the University of Connecticut (UCONN) in the United States of America.

The statement noted that Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, who is currently a student of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), had been selected as part of an exchange program between his tertiary institution and a US-based university.

The statement read:

"Firebrand and hard-hitting journalist, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, has been awarded a scholarship to study for a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree at the University of Connecticut (UCONN) in the United States of America."

"Afrifa-Mensah, a student of law at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and as one of the students with the highest GPA, was selected under the ongoing academic exchange program between GIMPA and UCONN."

As part of the program, the For The Records political show host has been offered advanced training in law, which presents graduates with the opportunity to sit for the US Bar Examinations.

The former Angel FM presenter may subsequently be called to the Bar in the United States if he passes the academic program.

Amid uncertainty about the future of his For The Records show, Okatakyie-Afrifa Mensah hinted that production will soon resume from his studios in the US.

He also urged his numerous followers to expect more content from him as he pursues his new academic journey.

Okatakyie-Afrifa speaks on Shatta Wale's EOCO problems

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Okatakyie-Afrifa spoke about Shatta Wale's problems with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

In a video, the media personality claimed that the dancehall musician was being unfairly targeted by the NDC government.

Okatakyie-Afrifa also claimed that Shatta Wale had planned to file a big lawsuit against the EOCO for storming his residence.
