Fresh concerns have emerged over Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister's hair transplant, after confirmation of the bold transformation rang alarm bells among fans just weeks before the new Premier League season.

Following Argentina's exit from the World Cup, Mac Allister wasted no time pursuing the personal image change.
The player travelled to a specialised medical centre in Buenos Aires rather than waiting until later in his break.
News of the procedure was first reported by Argentine outlet TN, with images of the 27-year-old showing the recent marks from the surgery quickly going viral online.
Liverpool fans concerned over Mac Allister transplant
According to Spanish outlet Marca, Liverpool fans are now raising a key concern over the timing of Mac Allister's procedure.
The player is due back for pre-season training soon, and with the Premier League season approaching, supporters began questioning whether post-operative healing and recovery time could delay his return to full training or matches.
Sources close to the player have, however, moved to ease those concerns, confirming the surgical procedure had been scheduled well in advance, specifically to coincide with his summer break.
This timing, they explained, meant the biological healing period would not interfere with pre-season training or the high-intensity sessions planned by Liverpool's coaching staff.
Mac Allister jokes about hair transplant
The decision did not come as a surprise to those close to him.
He had previously hinted at the plan while appearing completely shaved during a training camp, joking with reporters at the time:
"I was a bald guy with hair, now I'm a bald guy with a bald head... Let's see if after the World Cup we plant a little bit, see if there's a little trade-in."
He has previously linked the look change to resembling his father, former footballer Carlos Javier Mac Allister, though he has also said the real motivation behind taking care of his appearance was tied to his young daughter.
The procedure was performed at the specialised Capilea centre, led by doctors Mariano Calero and Bruno Szyferman, who shared images with Mac Allister on their own professional profiles following the session.
After the treatment, he travelled to his home province of La Pampa to spend his remaining break with family, where he was photographed with fans, showing the early progress of the transplant.

According to an earlier report by YEN.com.gh, Barcelona midfielder Gavi underwent a complete hair transformation of his own, dyeing his hair pink after fulfilling a promise he made ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
He had vowed to dye his hair pink if Spain went on to win the tournament, a pledge he finally delivered on after months of playful stalling.
