Madam Akua Amissah, a certified marriage counsellor based in Takoradi, shared her opinion about the young man's dilemma in an interview with YEN.com.gh;

"The two are in a relationship, and it is perfectly ok to help each other in times of need. However, it is unfair for the lady to guilt-trick her partner into settling all her debt. The best thing would be for the young man to help pay the debt and not take full responsibility. The lady's ex too must be involved in the payment. He must not go scot-free", she said.
