The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man, Opoku Emmanuel, after he allegedly released a viral video threatening the lives of police and military personnel.

The suspect was picked up on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Jacobu in the Amansie Central District following an investigation into his social media activities.
In the video that circulated online, the suspect appeared masked while issuing warnings to state security officers.
According to the police, Emmanuel warned officers to stay away from armed robbers and threatened to kill anyone who attempted to confront him.

The clip sparked significant concern among the public, prompting the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) to track his location.
In an official statement, the police confirmed the suspect is currently in custody and is assisting with ongoing investigations.
He is expected to be arraigned before a court in the coming days to face charges related to his conduct.
The police have reiterated their commitment to dealing firmly with any individual who incites violence or threatens the safety of security personnel.
