Wife Checks Her Husband's Phone And Finds Chilling Texts She Wished She Had Never Seen

  • Lawrencia, a married woman, checked her husband's phone and discovered texts from his female co-worker
  • Her husband of five years had replied to messages that ended with ''I miss you, love'' with a similar message
  • In an interview, Ghanaian relationship counsellor Dr John Boakye proposed that the woman sits down with her hubby and discuss with him

When Lawrencia pursued her instincts to check her husband's phone, she discovered texts she had wished she had never seen because it shattered her trust in him.

Lawrencia read messages from her husband's female colleague co-worker. However, Lawrencia had little contact with the other woman and barely brought her up in passing during their home conversations.

How wife discovered texts

Lawrencia, 35, found the texts after her husband neglected to remove them from his phone. They had access to each other's phones due to their long-standing trust, but that trust was quickly broken.

Despite his explanation that it was a one-off incident, his reply, ''I miss you too, love'' to his colleague's text message, ''I miss you, love'' did not make sense.

Lawrencia, visibly angered by the texts, scattered her husband's documents on his working table, which was only the beginning of worse things. She called off the celebration of their fifth wedding anniversary the same day and asked their vendor for reimbursement in part.

The voice of an expert

But Ghanaian relationship counsellor, Dr John Boakye, believes they can resolve the marital problem through communication.

''She should find a diplomatic way, and the man is likely to open up ... cheating has become common, but it doesn't mean he does not love the woman.

''Healthy communication will build trust and intimacy. She should talk to him whenever she feels something is wrong,'' Dr Boakye told YEN.com.gh.

The BBC reports that, on average, 75% of men and 68% of women admit to infidelity in a relationship at some point. However, a more recent study from 2017 indicates that men and women are now cheating at comparable rates.

Dr Boakye, however, advises that Lawrencia should not leave the marriage despite the common cheating phenomena.
