Ghana, with a rich World Cup history including four appearances since 2006, will be looking to reach next year's tournament after missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Ghanaian team would rely on key players such as Tottenham's Mohamed Kudus, Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo, Thomas Partey of Villareal, and AS Monaco's defensive stalwart Mohammed Salisu to deliver on both ends of the pitch.
Les Sao of Chad, on the other hand, are determined to make a mark at home, hoping to upset the visitors in front of their local supporters. Otto Addo's men spanked Tahir Zakaria Gardia's side 5-0 during the reverse fixture on March 21 of this year at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Where to watch Chad vs. Ghana WC qualifier
For supporters who won’t be at the stadium, catching the game live is essential. Unfortunately, in Ghana, GTV and GTV Sports+ are not expected to broadcast the match
However, according to Foot Africa, New World Sport and Canal+ group channels will telecast the clash while both Ghanaian fans and international viewers can also stream it via FIFA+, with the encounter scheduled to kick off at 13:00 GMT.
Meanwhile, ahead of Ghana’s crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Les Sao of Chad, YEN.com.gh earlier took a look at how the Black Stars might line up.
Coach Otto Addo has 22 players at his disposal as he looks to guide the team to a vital away victory, with Alexander Djiku and Joseph Paintsil ruled out through injuries, according to the Ghana FA website.
Goalkeeper: Benjamin Asare
Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare is expected to marshal the defence, organise the backline, and deliver key saves to keep the Black Stars in contention throughout the match.
Full-backs: Tariq Lamptey, Gideon Mensah
Tariq Lamptey offers blistering pace and attacking thrust down the right, while Gideon Mensah provides defensive stability on the left. Both will be crucial in containing Chad’s wide threats and supporting Ghana’s forward play.
Centre-backs: Jerome Opoku, Mohammed Salisu
With Djiku sidelined through injury, Opoku and Salisu form the central defensive pairing. Salisu’s aerial presence, combined with Opoku’s composure and ball-playing ability, will be pivotal in neutralising Chad’s attacking threats.
Midfielders: Ibrahim Sulemana, Thomas Partey
Sulemana brings energy and tackling ability, while Villarreal’s Thomas Partey is expected to control the tempo, connect defence and attack, and use his experience to break up opposing plays.
Attackers: Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo
Ghana’s attacking quartet combines speed, creativity, and goal-scoring threat. Kudus and Williams will be tasked to exploit spaces, while captain Ayew and in-form Semenyo lead the line with experience and clinical finishing.
Semenyo, currently Ghana’s standout performer, will be key to converting chances into goals, as he did against Liverpool at Anfield on the 2025/26 Premier League's opening day.
Speaking to YEN.com.gh, Ghanaian sports journalist Stephen Zando expressed hope that the Black Stars could carry the form they have shown at club level into their crucial World Cup qualifier.
"If the players perform for the national team like they do for their clubs, I’m confident Ghana can secure a convincing win against Chad. Look at Kudus at Spurs, Semenyo at Bournemouth, and even Partey and Inaki in the La Liga, these are starters week in, week out and I hope to see them make a difference." Zando said.
Spotlight on Mohammed Kudus
YEN.com.gh recently highlighted a crucial area of Mohammed Kudus’ game that requires improvement if he is to help Ghana secure World Cup qualification and make a lasting impact at Tottenham.
The 24-year-old joined Spurs from West Ham United this summer and has generally impressed in his first four competitive outings for the Europa League holders.
