Antoine Semenyo kept his red-hot run going on Saturday, February 28, firing Manchester City ahead in their Premier League clash against Leeds United.

The 26-year-old struck in the second minute of first-half stoppage time, calmly finishing from close range after Rayan Ait Nouri picked him out with a clever cutback.

It was a simple touch, but it carried huge importance as it broke the deadlock and set the tone for the afternoon.

Semenyo continues fine form for City

After drawing blanks in his previous two outings, the Ghana international wasted no time reminding everyone why he has been such a revelation since his big-money switch.

His latest strike means that since making his league debut for City on January 17, only Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro have registered more Premier League goal involvements, both with six, compared to Semenyo’s five, according to Squawka.

The effort against Leeds was his 14th in the competition this season. Only Erling Haaland, with 22 and Igor Thiago, with 18, have found the net more often for the club.

In just seven appearances in the English top flight, he has delivered four goals and one assist.

Finishes against Fulham, Tottenham, Wolves and now Leeds underline how quickly he has become a trusted weapon in Pep Guardiola’s title push alongside Arsenal.
