Early Life
Nana Appiah Mensah was born on May 16, 1985, in Accra, Ghana. The businessman’s mother is a successful business executive, Susie Ivy Brew, while his father is a banker named Napoleon Mensah Abrompah. He has a sister named Benedicta Appiah.
He attended Adisadel College and later joined the University of Ghana, where he got his first degree. While on campus, the entrepreneur studied Economics and Business Management, Finance, Mining, Environmental Studies, Psychology, Law, African and World History and Theology.
Career
Nana Appiah Mensah embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by establishing various businesses to revolutionise the entertainment industry. He founded the multimedia company that played a pivotal role in promoting Ghanaian talent and expanding the creative industry, Zylofon Media, in 2016.
Through Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah introduced innovative platforms that allowed artists, musicians, and filmmakers to showcase their talents globally. Some notable musicians he signed to the company included Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Becca, Kumi Guitar, and Joyce Blessing. The company also signed other movie stars, such as Benedicta Gafah, Toosweet Annan, and Nana Appiah until its collapse in 2019.
In addition to his involvement in the entertainment sector, Nana Appiah Mensah ventured into other industries, including gold trading and real estate. He founded his gold-dealing company, Menzgold, in 2014. The company bought, sold, exported, and stored gold, silver, diamonds, and other valuable minerals through a Bullion Banking system.
His company, Menzgold, unfortunately, was shut down in September 2018 by the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission.
