UCC admission list: check your 2019/2020 admission status

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) is a public research university in Ghana that offers quality education. Founded in 1962, the institution has more than 200 programmes that students can choose from based on their dreams and aspirations in life. As the UCC admission list is out and published online, you need to know what steps to take to confirm if you have been offered admission or not.

Prospective students who have previously applied to the University of Cape Coast for admission can now check if they have been admitted or not. While they should not forget that admissions are given to prospective students on merit, applying to the institution does not mean an automatic guarantee of an opportunity to study at the citadel of learning.

Is UCC admission list out?

Yes. The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has published the names of successful applicants who have been offered preliminary admission to various programs at the institution for the 2020/2021 academic session on the ucc.edu.gh admission list.

However, it is essential to note that students whose applications do not contain the application reference numbers will not be processed, which means that they will forfeit their admission. Also, the chance of getting admitted becomes slimmer if a student did not meet the admission requirements before applying.

How to check admission status at UCC

Applicants who merit the University of Cape Coast admission list are sent a short text message to inform them of the latest development with their application. But if you do not receive any information on your phone, there is still a process that you can follow to confirm your UCC admission status; the steps are explained below:

  1. First, visit the official admission status checker portal of the institution.
  2. Then, enter your name and choose the course that you applied for. Although it is possible to check with either your first or last name, it is better to use both.
  3. If you are not sure of the course you have been admitted to study, your name alone is enough to search with.
  4. After inputting your details, click on the search button to check through the UCC admission list.
  5. Once you spot your name, click on the "print letter" button, and supply your application reference number to print the letter.

Note: If you have forgotten it, check your email account for a copy of the application forms, which contains the reference number. Alternatively, you can contact the Admissions Office for assistance on that. Remember to print your medical examination forms and pay the necessary fees for you to be medically examined.

To check the UCC distance education admission list online, the additional information you would need to supply is your voucher pin and the serial number. Once you see your name on the list, print as well.

How to register for UCC

Once you have been given admission, the institution expects you to pay all necessary fees to enquire about all you are supposed to do from your department before you commence registration.

After you have paid your fees, you will get your registration number and password electronically, which you can use to create your student portal account. With it, you can register courses online and also book for accommodation (if you are a regular student).

Remember that if you do not register until the registration period closes, if you attend lectures and write examinations, you will not receive any grades. If you register late, you will pay a late registration fee.

How can I get admission in UCC?

To go about the application process, you will need to buy scratch cards, which you will need when applying online. You can pay cash at the institution's cashier's office or make a postal order through the Ghana Post Offices at the Regional Capitals.

Other places where you can pay include Kumasi Workers’ College and any of the study centres of UCC College of Distance Education. As an international applicant, you can pay through your VISA Card to get your Scratch Card PIN delivered to your email box.

Once you have your PIN, visit the official website of the institution to apply. There, you will be required to choose your mode of study, application level and type, and afterwards, you will supply your card information. Fill the necessary details on the application form and also upload the required documents.

Before you click on the "Submit and Print Confirmation" button, make sure you have correctly filled your information. Print the confirmation page and keep the information safe as you will need the reference number later after you have been granted admission.

As much as the institution is willing to give prospective students admission, they will not consider those whose applications did not follow the laid down procedures and those who did not meet the requirements. So, before going to check the UCC admission list online, ensure that you have the necessary information that will enable you to print your admission letter incase you eventually merit their list of admitted students.
