Ghanaian police officer Rita Yirenkyiwaa Awuku, popularly known as Maya, has been adjudged as the top fashion/photo model for the year 2020.

Maya won the award at the Ghana Entertainment Choice Awards which was recently held in Accra.

The police lady who is often described as Ghana's most beautiful policewoman announced her win in a post on social media on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Maya shared a photo from the awards ceremony showing her in a beautiful black dress while holding the plaque she received on the night.

Sharing the photo, Maya sent a congratulatory message to herself saying:

"Congratulations to my beautiful self for winning fashion/photo model of the year@ghechoiceawards_21."

Earlier, YEN.com.gh had sighted Maya delivering her acceptance speech at the ceremony after receiving the award.

Following the announcement of her win, Maya's followers have been pouring congratulations on her on social media.

jude.njoku.18 predicted Maya would win more awards in the future:

"Congratulations my friend. You deserve the award. More awards to you ok."

yawowusu65 said Maya deserved the award:

"You deserve it, congratulations."

tracy_annoh who described Maya as her mother congratulated her:

"Congratulations my mentor."

For many Ghanaians on social media, Maya's award will not come as a surprise as she has been stunning with lovely photos on there.

Maya shared those photos in celebration her 12th anniversary in the police service.
