A nurse in Kumasi called Hanifa Afriyie Appiah's four-year-old child by the name Fidel Adwoa was butchered by their housemaid who is only 13 years old.
Sharing the story with YEN.com.gh, Hanifa indicated that the incident happened on March 23, 2021, when the maid was alone with the four-year-old at home.
After inflicting the wounds on the child's head and thighs, the house help locked her up so that nobody would hear her cry and tried stopping the blood by pressing an object against her head.
When the maid later realized that the condition might get worse, she then got out looking for help under the pretence that Fidel had cut herself severally with the knife.
"At that point, I received a call to rush home after which I sent my daughter to the hospital. Initially, we thought the only head was wounded but upon getting there, we saw the several cuts on her thighs as well", Fidel's mother recalls.
When asked why she perpetrated such a heinous crime, the 13-year-old house help could not give any reason.
A pastor, along with an eye-witnessed who noticed the house help maltreating Adwoa, stated that she tried launching attacks on the young girl in the spiritual realm with no success, which is why she has become physical with it.
Hanifa Afriyie Appiah has advised all parents to make sure they only take house helps that they have known for a long time and can trust to take good care of their children.
