A Ghanaian footballer, Godfred Yaboah, has been buried in style.

Pictures from the late footballer's funeral have sparked mixed reactions on social media due to how the ceremony went down.

The first picture seen on TikTok showed the deceased Godfred in a standing position and fully dressed in a jersey like a player ready for a match.

There was a ball under the deceased's left arm. Another picture showed the huge football boot-inspired coffin Godfred was put in. The pictures were shared by @hecticon9.

Fantasy coffin trend in Ghana

Carpenters in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana are fast becoming famous for making fantasy coffins.

According to CNN, the creative coffin makers make the coffins to symbolise the deceased's profession in life.

Another Ghanaian who was a food seller was buried in a coffin made in the likening of an iron pot.

Man buried in aeroplane-like coffin

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh previously reported that a Ghanaian man was laid to rest in a coffin that looked like an aeroplane.

The video posted by @director_nat shows that the man was laid to rest in a casket in the shape of a helicopter. The helicopter casket also has a rotor which rotted fan blades during mournful events.

Some people who saw the video wondered if the deceased man was a pilot during his life time. There is a popular culture in parts of Ghana in which deceased people are laid to rest in coffins shaped to illustrate their profession while they are alive. However, the person who posted the short clip did not mention if the departed soul was a pilot.
