What Lampard told Caleb Yirenkyi
Speaking on Coventry's official website, the 20-year-old said it was the head coach's vision that sealed the deal for him.
"I'm excited to be at this club. I've heard so much about it and I really feel positive about being here. When I spoke to the head coach about the plans and the style, it's something I really like, and I look forward to learning from him."
He added that he is eager to grow under Lampard's guidance and contribute every day:
"I want to give my best to the team each and every day. I'm still young so I want to learn from the head coach, the other players and work really hard for the team. I've also heard a lot about the fans, they're incredible and I can't wait to play in front of them."

Yirenkyi's rise to the Premier League
The Ghanaian international came through the Right to Dream academy before making the switch to Danish side FC Nordsjaelland in 2024.
Yirenkyi made his senior debut for the club in September of that year at just 18 years old. He wasted little time establishing himself as a key figure.
According to Transfermarkt, during the 2025/26 season, he made 34 appearances as Nordsjaelland finished third in the Danish Superliga and earned a spot in the UEFA Conference League.
His displays earned him the Danish Superliga Young Player of the Year award and a place in the league's Team of the Year.
At the international level, the midfielder has already accumulated 15 caps for the Black Stars, including playing and scoring the decisive goal against Panama at the 2026 World Cup.
