The more common service that we are all often on the lookout for is personal banking. Under this category the offer customer focused services and accounts each with different perks and benefits that are designed to suit the targets best. They have six different account types:
Early start - These accounts are of two types, ABC accounts and Piggy account and are meant to teach children good money habits such as saving.
Growing up - This section focuses on teens and young adults and are of two types as well, Smart Teen and Young Adult accounts.
New beginnings - This section has only one type of account, the Aspire Account. It is a unique category as it was created solely to serve students in tertiary institutions. This is also the reason they have opened UMB branches in universities.
Everyday Needs - The name for this category of accounts is a little misleading as this account types are for the general population but do not necessarily serve everyday needs. The account assortment is; UMB Current Account, UMB Direct Saver Account, UMB Saver Account, UMB Foreign Currency Account and the UMB Foreign Exchange Account.
Golden Years - You still need to bank when you are old and the Silver Saver Account is just for that.
Faith Institute Account - The name gives it away and this is for banking that follows religious inclination offering a choice between Zion and Zion Plus accounts.
Universal Merchant Bank Ghana also has a private banking service which is in many ways a priority banking category. This is called the Prominence Club and is for high net worth individuals only. The club has three levels of membership; Ruby which is entry level, Emerald which the second class and Diamond at the top level of membership.
