In the wake of the world's richest man Elon Musk's acquisition of social media giant Twitter for a staggering $44bn, a Nigerian businessman is set to tow similar lines with a local platform.

Dr Stephen Akintayo, a realtor, has openly offered to buy Nigeria's leading internet platform Nairaland for N1bn.

Making the announcement on his Twitter handle, the microbiology graduate remarked that people cannot continue to do nothing while foreigners take over the tech business.

Stephen roared that he means business and is not chasing clot with his intention.

He tweeted:

Donald Trump Vows Not to Rejoin Twitter after Friend Elon Musk Buys Platform

YEN.com.gh reported earlier that former American president Donald Trump has vowed not to rejoin Twitter after his close friend Elon Musk purchased the giant communications platform in a whopping GH¢331 billion deal.

Trump had been banned by Twitter from using its platform after the civil unrest following his loss to Joe Biden in the presidential election.

The January 6 riot was over inflammatory messages aimed at Trump's supporters, some of whom broke into the US Capitol building that day.
