Spurs had been chasing back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time since the opening two matches of the season, having comfortably beaten the Bees in North London just weeks earlier.

However, the London derby proved far tougher, with the Lilywhites failing to carve out any clear-cut chances and being held scoreless by Frank’s former club for the first time since May 2022.

The Danish coach has faced growing scrutiny over his style of play since replacing Ange Postecoglou in the summer, and the latest flat display appeared to test the patience of the home crowd once again.

Tottenham’s results this season have fallen well short of expectations, leaving the north London side 12th in the Premier League at the halfway point, with just seven wins and 27 goals from 19 matches.

This is despite significant summer investment, with Xavi Simons, Randal Kolo Muani and Mohammed Kudus all brought in to strengthen the attack following their Europa League success.

There appears to be a clear route for Frank to win back the supporters: play with greater intent.

Too often Spurs have lacked a cutting edge, prompting frustration and growing scrutiny of tactical choices.

The continued use of three defensive-minded midfielders has limited their attacking threat, and a more front-foot approach is increasingly demanded.

Unless goals and wins begin to follow, the pressure on Frank is only likely to intensify, with his long-term future coming into question.

How Kudus fared against Brentford

Tothelaneandback.com handed Mohammed Kudus a 6/10 for his display against Brentford.

According to the Spurs-focused site, the Ghana international had limited chances to impact the final third as he was frequently tasked with helping Pedro Porro defensively.

Kudus did show glimpses of his quality when driving forward with the ball, but he was largely isolated in a crowded midfield. While his work rate was unquestionable, his overall attacking influence remained limited.

Tottenham to replace Thomas Frank with Klopp?

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that former Tottenham Hotspur owner Lord Alan Sugar has suggested that Spurs should target Jurgen Klopp as their manager, amid growing pressure on current boss Thomas Frank.

Klopp retired from full-time management in July 2024 after leaving Liverpool and now serves as Red Bull’s Global Head of Football.

He reportedly has a clause in his Red Bull contract allowing him to pursue the German national team job, though it’s unclear if a similar clause applies to club opportunities.
