When he died in a helicopter crash on 30 September 2026, the digits appeared on his coffin, drawing renewed public interest in what the number meant to the late tycoon.
Wicknell Chivayo frequently shared images of his affluent lifestyle on social media, where customised vehicles with 777 registration plates regularly attracted attention.
The same sequence was linked to his private aircraft, making it a consistent thread across his most high-profile belongings.
What 777 means in numerology
In numerological tradition, 777 is widely considered one of the most spiritually loaded sequences a person can encounter.
Practitioners describe it as an angel number, a recurring pattern believed by some to carry divine messages or signals of spiritual alignment.
The number seven on its own is associated with intuition, wisdom and inner growth. When it appears three times in sequence, believers interpret it as an amplified version of those qualities, suggesting that a person is aligned with a higher purpose or moving in a favourable direction.
Others see 777 as a marker of positive opportunity and good fortune. It is worth noting, however, that these interpretations are rooted in belief systems rather than scientific evidence.
Why Wicknell Chivayo chose 777
The specific reasoning behind the Zimbabwean businessman's affinity for the number was never publicly explained.
What is clear is that its presence across so many aspects of his life was no accident.

Wicknell Chivayo's unfinished legacy
Beyond the symbolism of the number, Chivayo left behind tangible community projects in his hometown of Chivhu.
