Curtiss Cook
The Dayton, Ohio-born actor is also a director, and he is known for his roles on Arbitrage, The Interpreter, and Shutter Island. He plays the role of Douda, a mayoral candidate and successful businessman in the drama series. He also serves as a stealth leader of a brutal local gang. His ruthless, selfish motives are part of what makes him stand him out in the series.

Alex R. Hibbert
Best known as Kevin, Alex is from a loving household, but he has a desire to hang out with his friends and flirt with cute babes. Unfortunately for him, he finds himself in serious trouble. Apart from his role in The Chi, the young actor has also featured in Black Panther and Moonlight.
Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine
The 1967 born American stage and film actor is also known as an activist, documentarian, photographer, and playwright. He plays the role of Ronnie (meaning well) in the series. He lives with his feisty grandmother Ethel, and as a perennially unemployed man, his dream of making amends with his true love keeps his hope alive, although he seems too weak to deliver himself each time he is in a challenging situation.
Jason Mitchell
Jason is an American actor, who became prominent for starring in the 2015 biopic Straight Outta Compton as rapper Eazy-E. He has also featured in dramas like Mudbound and Detroit and plays the role of Brandon in The Chi.
In the TV series, in his quest to become a better person, he and his girlfriend Jerrika open a restaurant. After gradually making significant success in the business, a devastating personal tragedy hits him and everything he has built over the years is threatened by it.
Sonja Sohn
The American director and actress is best known for the roles she played on HBO drama The Wire as Detective Kima Greggs and on the ABC series Body of Proof as Detective Samantha Baker.
She co-wrote and also starred in the independent film Slam. In The Chi, she plays the part of Laverne, Brandon's mother. Based on her role, she had to battle a lack of ambition, a drinking problem, questionable affection for men as well as a terrible personal tragedy.
Jasmine Davis
Jasmine is best known for her role in the drama series as Imani, Trig's loving girlfriend. Her kind heart and readiness to assist anyone within her capacity are part of what makes her win the heart of many fans in the series. She also supported her boyfriend in getting custody of Jake.

Who plays Reggie in The Chi?
Barton Fitzpatrick played the role of Reggie, and following the gunshot he sustained from assailants on motorcycles, one of the questions fans have been asking is, "did Reggie die on The Chi? Although after the gunshot, his friend sought help from different corners, it was not clear if Reggie got through or not until the show ended. So, while there is no definite answer to whether he died or not yet, as the episodes in the third season air, everything will be cleared in a matter of time.
