Actor Drogba seeks funds for heatlh battle

Ghanaian actor John Peasah of YOLO fame, popularly known as Drogba, has recently grabbed headlines for similar reasons as he battles a health condition.

The actor is battling a demyelinating disease, a serious neurological condition that affects the nervous system and can cause vision loss, muscle weakness, balance difficulties and severe pain, after seeking treatment at more than 12 hospitals without significant improvement.

He has described the treatments as expensive, forcing him to publicly appeal for funds, although that has not yielded many results.

On Thursday, April 30, Drogba was forced to address rumours that billionaire businessman Ibrahim Mahama had agreed to fund his treatments.

He called on blogs to stop carrying such reports because they were blocking his chances at raising funds, as some people thought he had received everything he needed.

"Because of false news, all real help has ceased😔. People say Ibrahim Mahama has ‘stepped in’. ‘Stepping in’ means he contacted me. He hasn’t. I’ve heard nothing from his team. If he helps me, I’ll thank him here first. These rumours have serious consequences," Drogba said.
