Prince Tuffour, the inaugural winner of the popular music reality competition TV3 Mentor, has resurfaced after years out of the spotlight.

The TV3 Mentor season 1 winner has broken his long silence with a new video that is turning heads across the country, showing off both a fresh sound and a dramatically different look from the young contestant fans remembered from the competition.
The clip, posted to Instagram on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, is a selfie-style video filmed outdoors against a building wall.

In the footage, Prince Tuffour, who is currently a gospel singer, beamed with excitement as he filmed himself performing his newly released song, delivering the line "To the cross He nailed our sins in certainty" with a joyful, spirited energy.
On-screen text overlayed the song lyrics as he sang, giving the short clip the feel of a casual but heartfelt worship moment rather than a polished music video.
What caught many fans off guard was how different Prince Tuffour currently looks compared to his days as a contestant on TV3 Mentor in the 2000s.
Viewers who grew up watching him on screen noted the visible transformation in his appearance.
Prince Tuffour's journey from TV3 Mentor
Mentor was one of Ghana's most celebrated music reality competitions during its early run on TV3, and Tuffour claimed the Season 1 title in 2006, launching what many expected would be a sustained career in mainstream music.
He walked home from the competition with a cash prize of 20 million old cedis (currently GH¢2,000), a six-month recording contract, exposure on TV3 for a year and a six-month music course in the United Kingdom (UK).

Following his stint on the music reality show, he released a song with veteran Ghanaian gospel singer Noble Nketsiah.
However, he stepped away from the spotlight for a considerable stretch to continue his education at the tertiary level, leaving fans to wonder what had become of the talented vocalist.
In the late 2010s, Tuffour re-emerged in the music scene with the release of his maiden album, "You Found Me".
The new video confirmed that Tuffour has continued to find direction in gospel music, channelling his voice and performance energy into faith-based material.
