How she was found
Upon receiving the tip, police officers had proceeded to the home of her biological parents for a search. During the search, one Saugerties Detective Erik Thiele noticed something about the staircase leading from the back of the couple's residence.

"And they released them! Absolutely sickening that someone can kidnap a child and nothing happens to them."
@thomasbelisle1965 thought:
"There will probably be a 20/20 segment on this story in the near future. Glad they found her alive. I just hope she won't have a long therapy for this. Such sad events."
@_ml.91_ opined:
"Thank God she is found, still alive Someone was looking over her-a guardian angel perhaps? I wish she recovers from this trauma and get all the counseling help and support."

Missing 19-year-old girl reappears after 7 years
Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh previously reported that a 19-year-old girl who had gone missing reappeared after 7 years.
Idris ran away when she was twelve; she said she did not experience the love of a mother and decided to stay on her own.
While she was wandering, she ran into a man whom she approached for help. The man took her to a pastor who took her in and converted her to Christianity. She was enrolled in a school in Jos and ended up living there.
The young girl said she could not really tell what made her leave the house; becoming a Christian was not a forced decision according to her. The pastor upon meeting her did not report her case to the police, neither did he try reuniting her with her family.
