With just days left in 2025, the football world continues to mourn the tragic loss of Liverpool and Portugal star Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

Having scored 147 goals for club and country, Jota climbed the ranks from Porto to establish himself as one of Europe’s most electrifying wingers.

Alongside his stellar performances on the pitch, his lifestyle was evident in the grandeur of his homes and the opulence he enjoyed.

Diogo Jota accident currently under investigation

As reported by Marca, the 28-year-old footballer and his brother, Andre Silva, 25, also a footballer, lost their lives in a car accident.

While overtaking on the A-52 near Valladolid, a suspected tyre blowout sent the vehicle off the road, where it crashed and caught fire.

According to reports, firefighters successfully put out the blaze, which had also reached surrounding vegetation. They coordinated with emergency teams and the Civil Guard before confirming the fatalities.

A representative of the Civil Guard in Zamora stated:

''The crash is currently under investigation by traffic officers from the Civil Guard. Preliminary analysis of the road markings suggests a tyre blowout may have occurred. Once finalised, the full police report will be forwarded to the duty court in Zamora, which has initiated a judicial inquiry into the incident.''

"The report is still in progress and is expected to take around four to five days to complete, though it could take longer. Right now, we can’t determine the exact speed of the vehicle, but Civil Guard investigators will be able to estimate it based on evidence such as skid marks. What we can confirm at this stage is that the crash involved no other vehicles and no additional injuries were reported."

According to India Times, Jota invested around $3 million in an exclusive villa near Lisbon in 2022, two years after joining Liverpool from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a reported transfer fee of £41 million.

The opulent home is said to feature a private gym, ideal for keeping up with his professional-level fitness, as well as a gaming room, showcasing his love for esports and the FIFA football video game series.

Diogo Jota's Liverpool townhouse

Diogo Jota, who scored 65 goals in 182 appearances for Liverpool, owned a $1.5 million townhouse near the city centre from 2021 until his tragic passing.

The stylish home, close to Anfield and training facilities, offered privacy, luxury finishes, open-plan living, and landscaped gardens, serving as his perfect retreat between matches.
