NSMQ 2023: Holy Child Eliminated From Preliminary Stage By Wesley Grammar, Ghanaians React

Holy Child School has been eliminated from the preliminary stages of the ongoing 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz(NSMQ).

The girls' school from Cape Coast came up short when they faced Wesley Grammar School and St. Andrews SHS.

At the end of the contest, Wesley Grammar School proved too strong for their opponents as they got 46 points, whereas Holy Child School came in second with 43 points.

St. Andrews SHS took the third spot as they got 18 points after the contest.

Other contests that were held today saw Anlo SHS defeat Nkoranza SHTS and Bompeh SHTS.

Kumasi Wesley Girls' High School advanced to the next stage at the expense of Northern School of Business and Aduman SHS.

Ghanaians react to the early exit of Holico from the NSMQ

Many people who reacted to the results were stunned by the early exit of Holy Child School from the competition.

I was expecting Holy Child to deliver in the riddles and they did . However their lack of taking risks to press the buzzer early enough which I’ve found consistent amongst girls schools came back to haunt them in the final round

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Presbyterian Boys' Senior High School, popularly known as Presec, emerged as the Greater Accra regional champion of the National Science and Maths Quiz(NSMQ).

The final contest was between Presec, Accra Academy, Tema Methodist Senior High School and Chemu Senior High School.

Accra Academy gave Presec an early scare after they took the lead in the first round of the contest.

The seven-time winners of the national competition, however, bounced back in the second round and third rounds to clinch victory.
