Bishop Daniel Obinim, a popular Ghanaian preacher, disclosed the relationship between him and famous Ghanaian entrepreneur Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong.

The popular preacher was one of the guests who attended the 60th birthday party of Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Despite Automobile Museum in East Legon, Accra.

In marking his 60th birthday, Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong held various events throughout the day to celebrate the milestone.

Family and friends attended the events to celebrate with the founder of Special Group Ltd. He first held a thanksgiving service, followed by a donation to PRESEC, Legon, his alma mater and a birthday party.

The former President Kufour and ex-Vice President Dr Bawumia were part of the dignitaries present at the birthday party.

Bishop Damiel Obinim was also present at the party. He wished Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong well and explained their relationship for the sake of those who did not know.

"We are family. He is my senior brother. My mother comes right after his father. Even though he is older than me, we grew up in the same house. It was his father, Mr Sarpong, who led me to marry my wife. It is my brother Ofori Sarpong who introduced me to the real estate business."

Despite shares genesis of their 40-year friendship

Meanwhile, Osei Kwame Despite has praised his best friend, Ernest Ofori Sarpong, on his momentous 60th birthday.

In a video message, Despite shared details of their 40-year bond, highlighting Sarpong's immense support.
