Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez are set to marry in Madeira this weekend, with the couple reportedly preparing for a lavish ceremony surrounded by family, friends and some of the biggest names in football.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner and his long-term partner are expected to exchange vows at a cathedral in Funchal on Saturday, August 8, before celebrating at the five-star Savoy Palace hotel.

With the guest list likely to be packed with celebrities and football royalty, some familiar faces may not make the cut.
Over the course of his remarkable career, Ronaldo has had his share of public disagreements and rivalries.

10 famous people who may miss Ronaldo's wedding
YEN.com.gh rounds up 10 famous figures who may not receive an invitation to Ronaldo and Georgina's wedding via Sun Sport:

10. Erik ten Hag
Ronaldo's second spell at Manchester United ended badly under Ten Hag. After being dropped, the Portuguese refused to come on as a late substitute against Tottenham in 2022 and later said he had "no respect" for the Dutchman. His contract was subsequently terminated by mutual consent.
9. Ralf Rangnick
Ronaldo was reportedly unimpressed when Rangnick took temporary charge of United in 2021. He even admitted he had "never even heard of him" and questioned the German's pressing philosophy.
8. Jamie Carragher
Carragher openly criticised United's decision to re-sign Ronaldo. Ronaldo appeared to take note, greeting Roy Keane and Gary Neville during a Sky Sports broadcast at Old Trafford in 2022 while seemingly ignoring Carragher.
7. Gary Lineker
The former England striker has long backed Lionel Messi in the GOAT debate. Ronaldo eventually unfollowed him on social media. Lineker later said on The Rest Is Football:
“He doesn’t like me very much, Cristiano Ronaldo. I didn’t upset him by anything I said about him. Other than the fact I’m honest and think overall Messi’s a better footballer.”
6. Antonio Cassano
Cassano was highly critical of Ronaldo during his Juventus years, describing him as "selfish" and questioning his ability to play as part of a team. He later claimed Ronaldo contacted him directly and demanded greater respect.
5. Sepp Blatter
Blatter famously joked about Ronaldo during a 2013 Oxford Union speech, saying he spent "more time at the hairdresser" than Messi. Ronaldo publicly shared the footage, prompting an apology from the former FIFA president.
4. Casemiro
Casemiro played alongside Ronaldo at both Real Madrid and Manchester United. However, his recent praise of Messi could make a wedding invitation unlikely. After joining Messi at Inter Miami, Casemiro said:
“For me, without a doubt, I am coming to play with the best player of all time. He’s one of, if not the god of football.”
3. Lionel Messi
Ronaldo and Messi have spent nearly two decades competing for football's biggest individual honours. Their relationship appears respectful rather than personal. With Messi holding eight Ballon d'Or awards and a World Cup title, the Argentine remains Ronaldo's biggest rival in the GOAT debate.
2. Zlatan Ibrahimović
Ronaldo and Ibrahimović have crossed paths throughout their careers, but the outspoken Swede has never appeared particularly close to the Portuguese star. That makes his presence in Madeira far from certain.
1. Wayne Rooney
Rooney and Ronaldo formed one of Manchester United's most dangerous attacking partnerships in the 2000s. However, their relationship became strained during Ronaldo's second spell at the club.
Rooney criticised his former teammate between 2021 and 2022, prompting Ronaldo to accuse him of being "jealous" during his interview with Piers Morgan.
Whether any of these famous names actually received an invitation remains unknown.
But if the reports surrounding Ronaldo and Georgina's big day are accurate, the guest list could be just as intriguing as the ceremony itself.
