The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) should be starting on 20 July.

More than 340,000 candidates will begin the 2019 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at 707 centres across the country on Monday. For the first time, school candidates for the WASSCE will be biometrically.

Arotiba emerged the best candidate in the sub region with eight A1s in the May/June 2018 WASSCE, beating over 1.9million candidates that sat for the examination. The second and third positions went to two Ghanaian students.
