BMW said Tuesday its head of production Milan Nedeljkovic will take over as chief executive as the German auto giant contends with challenges ranging from the electric shift to Chinese competition. Nedeljkovic currently oversees the group's factories worldwide, which produce both electric and combustion engine models on the same production lines.

EU reassurances over its plan to use frozen Russian assets to help fund Ukraine have failed to quell worries about the untested scheme, the organisation holding most of the funds told AFP. "We've made very, very clear that we still have concerns," Guillaume Eliet, chief risk officer at Brussels-based clearing house Euroclear, told AFP in an interview.

International airlines expect to transport a record 5.2 billion passengers in 2026 despite global headwinds affecting the sector, the industry's trade association said on Tuesday.
