Asamoah Gyan career

Asamoah Gyan focused on nurturing his football career, back in 2003. By this time he was around 16 years of age considering the fact that he was born in November 22nd 1985; Asamoah Gyan age now is 32 years. Liberty Professionals a Ghanaian Premier League club joined Gyan in 2003. He did not disappoint and within 16 matches that he appeared, he scored a total of 10 goals. Gyan was signed to Udinese in the same year, 2003; he spent around 2 years on a loan playing for ‘Serie B’ club - Madena. Here he was able to learn and gain more match experiences as well skills making him to follow incredible displays during FIFA 2016.

All the excellent displays of Gyan made him to attract more clubs such as Russian club – Lokomotiv Moscow. In spite of all the fame, the influential player made his returns to Udinese in 2006 though the following year the club decided to sell him on transfer window. Before the end of 2007 on 10th August to be precise, Asamoah Gyan decided to improve 5-year contract extension so that he could play for Udinese up to June 30th 2012 to reward them for their fine form. Why? Here are his own words, “have decided to stay here because it is one of the top leagues in the world.” He added by saying that, “There is the possibility of me playing regular football here to make me a better player. I am comfortable with the new deal and I know I can help Udinese achieve things for the future.”

The Ghanaian great footballer continued to impress in all the pre-season matches he appeared. In more clear words, Gyan scored a total of 8 goals during his 2006-2007 season, which was quite impressive. Unluckily, Gyan suffered an injury that was in his 2007-2008 season. This means that he never appeared to play from January 08 for Udinese. He only played a total of 13 ‘Serie A’ matches in which he scored only 3 times. All this shows that Gyan is a very hard working and dedicated footballer.

In July the same year 2008, Asamoah was signed to Stade Rennais – Ligue 1 club. His 4 years deal contract with his new club was on a transfer fee of €8 million. He appeared in 48 matches in which he scores a total of 14 goals for the club. That was incredible making him to be among the goal scorers figure. In 2009 -2010 season, Gyan scored a total of 13 league scores. The following season, Gyan only 3 matches in Ligue 1. This means he played a total of 53 matches for the club before departing to Sunderland.

In 2010 in the month of August 31st, Asamoah was signed by Sunderland – Premier League club. The 4 year contract deal with club was on a transfer fee of €13 million; it’s a club record. In the year 2011 on January 16th, Gyan scored a goal for Sunderland club at the 94th minute in a match against Newcastle. In 2011 on September 10th, Gyan left for a long loan season with Al Ain FC. The transfer fee was €6 million and it was part of his loan period. That was amusing to him because that salary was approximated to be 4 times his previous pay. Gyan as always did not disappoint and he scored a total of 22 league goals making that 10th league season a big success. In 2012 on July 6th, the Ghanaian footballer was fully signed to Al Ain club for a 5-year deal at a transfer fee of over €6 million per season. He did not disappoint and he helped the club to retain their ‘champion’ league title.

Gyan announced using his website that he extended his contract with Al Anil club to 2018, though in 2015 on 7th July, he confirmed that he joined Shangai SIPG – Chinese Super League club. At Shanghai SIPG club, Gyan was received weekly pay of €227, 000; this salary made him to appear in the list of best paid professional footballers in the world. Asamoah Gyan is now playing for Kayserispor – Turkish club, which he joined on July 5th 2017. Asamoah Gyan stats for this club so far is quite impressive as well.
