Netflix faced fierce criticism on Friday over its blockbuster deal to acquire Warner Bros., the storied Hollywood studio. Singapore's economy expanded by 4.4 percent on-year in the third quarter of 2022, the government said Friday while warning of ongoing global challenges such as inflation. On a quarter-to-quarter basis, Singapore's economy expanded by 1.5 percent, avoiding a technical recession by reversing the 0.2 percent contraction in Q2.

Turkey's parliament on Thursday approved a tough pre-election law that could see reporters and social media users jailed for up to three years for spreading "fake news". It also allows the courts to sentence accredited reporters and regular social media users who "openly spread misleading information" to between one and three years in jail.
