Ukraine seeks UNESCO cultural protection for Odessa

Ukraine's government will ask the UN's cultural watchdog to add the historic port of Odessa to its World Heritage List of protected sites as Russia's invasion continues, the agency said Tuesday. It said UNESCO experts already on the ground would provide technical assistance so that Odessa could be urgently added to both the World Heritage List and the list of heritage sites in danger.

Crouched in bushes on the shores of the Dnipro River, two young Ukrainian men dressed in army gear stalked Russian troops through the camera of a remote-controlled drone. Their job is to gather intelligence on Russian troop movements and positions before passing it on to the Ukrainian armed forces.

Camilo Guevara March, the eldest son of communist revolutionary icon Ernesto "Che" Guevara, died in Caracas aged 60, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said on Tuesday. "It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Camilo, son of Che and promoter of his ideas," said Diaz-Canel on Twitter.
